Since Montana’s HELP Act expanded Medicaid coverage to adults with low income in 2016, Medicaid expansion has impacted all Montanans – through benefits to the state budget, new health care services in communities across the state, new jobs and personal income, and better health for enrollees.

This report considers the risks to the state’s budget and economy, the health care system, communities, and people if Medicaid expansion is allowed to sunset in 2025.

This report was commissioned by the Montana Healthcare Foundation with support from the Montana Hospital Association and produced by Manatt Health.
